Summer is nearly over

It's 26C and it's September. It's hot enough to fool yourself into thinking that it is still summer. I'd like to hang onto that feeling of it being summer for as long as I can. The reality is that we are in autumn and that days like these are few and far between. This week it appears that I am going to be very lucky as the forecast is exceptional.

I have been thinking that it's a long time since May when I wrote about me being off for the summer. I must have had a great time as I didn't get around to blogging once. This is embarrassing. So what were the highlights of my summer?

1. Northern Spain - a holiday that exceeded expectations. Why? The food was deliciously fresh, the coastal walks were stunning, the beaches were empty and a visit to the Guggenheim in Bilbao where I stood in amazement at the architecture of the building and the wonder of some of it's exhibits.
2. A non fiction creative writing course in Shropshire with Arvon. Meeting new friends, being encouraged to write and being totally out of my comfort zone.
3. An athletic few days in Dorset. I cycled 27 miles in one day on a road bike. I was so pleased with myself. Followed by 2 days of 10 mile hikes along the South Coastal path.
4. Eventually making the journey to Pembrokeshire and seeing friends I haven't seen for 6 years since they moved there. Walking along the scenic coastal path.  That
seems to have been a theme for this summer.

Most of all just having the time to do the things I enjoy, having fun and being....... special times!

Hi I am Bryan, a fifty something man who over the last five years has been on a journey in transforming my diet and lifestyle after a surviving cancer three times. I have been free of cancer for the last two and a half years and I wanted to share things I have learned along the way.
